A DARKER PATH – ALIEN: COVENANT CRITIQUES (P2)

The second page of Covenant critiques digs even deeper into the film’s reception, highlighting reviews that dissect its visual storytelling, character arcs, and narrative risks. Many critics admired the film’s atmosphere, its stunning landscapes, and the way it brought back the primal terror of the xenomorph in new forms. Others were divided on the crew’s development, noting moments of brilliance in performance but also a lack of the character depth that made earlier films so beloved.

Much attention has been given to the film’s central themes: creation versus destruction, the role of artificial intelligence, and the question of what it truly means to play god. The interplay between Walter and David offers a chilling mirror of duality — loyalty versus obsession, creation versus corruption. These discussions elevate the film beyond its surface shocks, sparking continued analysis of what Scott intended for the future of the Alien universe.

Alien: Covenant may not have pleased every fan, but it undeniably left its mark — a haunting, unsettling chapter that keeps the franchise alive in both admiration and critique.
